The holy shrines are among the public buildings in the land of Iran that are important in various social, artistic, religious and historical aspects and are of secondary importance for the religious community of Iran, after mosques, among the religious buildings. And few points can be found in this land that are devoid of these kinds of buildings. The purpose of this study is to identify, codify and categorize the physical-spatial features based on the principles of Iranian-Islamic architecture of the patriarchal and Safavid religious tombs of Isfahan and the analytical comparison of these two periods with each other because by knowing the history and developments. It is in the course of time that one can become aware of the progress or decline of civilizations and use them to build a better future. In this regard, first, while examining the general principles of tomb architecture in each of these two periods, 15 Mongol patriarchal tombs and 17 Safavid tombs were identified in Isfahan and its subordinate areas. The separate face was examined. Then, by combining the analyzes, a statistical comparison of these periods was made and thought-provoking results were presented regarding the commonalities and differences between the two periods, including the difference between the hierarchy of access to the domed space and the difference in utilization. He mentioned the porch as one of the prominent organs of Iranian architecture, the difference in the general orientation, the similarity in the efficiency of the four-page space system and their predominant extroversion.
