The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between the people and the government in relation to each other based on the book Nahj al-Balaghah by Imam Ali (AS). The question of the present study is based on what is the relationship between people and government based on good governance from the perspective of Imam Ali (AS) and as an answer, we test the hypothesis that in the relationship between people and government based on good governance from the perspective of Imam Ali (AS), both the government has rights to the people as accountability and the people have rights to the government as obedience to the righteous rulers. In this research, data collection method is based on documentary method, inductive-deductive research strategy, data analysis method, content analysis method and inspired by theoretical literature related to good governance. The statistical population of this research includes all the letters, sermons and wisdoms in the book of Nahj al-Balaghah. Findings indicate that the rule of law, consensus, transparency, accountability, equality and inclusiveness, effectiveness and efficiency, responsibility, political stability and strategic vision are among the characteristics of good governance in Islam in different ways and with a certain intensity. It is mentioned. In contrast, the people have duties that include avoiding corruption, obeying the rulers, fulfilling the covenant, benevolence towards the ruler, supporting the ruler, trusting the ruler, avoiding misguidance, putting aside pride, and avoiding extremism. And excess becomes peace and reconciliation, empathy, transparency, not being oppressed, learning lessons.
